The Reverse Retrospective
March 19, 2018
This morning, just after I arrived to work, checking my emails, I came across the blog post Reverse Retrospective – Aligning Scrum Team and Scrum Master by Stefan Wolpers. This made me think of some of the teams that I have worked with in the past or even some of the teams that I’m working with today. Sometimes when teams start out, they are having a hard time adjusting to these new “agile” patterns and behaviours. I have seen teams in the past take upwards a year and a half or more to really start to get things. For that one team that did take that long, I wonder if something like what Stephan proposes by running a Reverse Retro, would that team might have started their change sooner? I don’t know.
But what I do know, that as a Scrum Master or an Agile Coach, we always need to re-evaluate our methods and change things up to fit the needs of each individual team. This article that I linked to might just be one of those methods that might change a team sooner than later. I would love to see this in practice, so I can comment further.
Stefan Wolpers has a lot of really good articles that he shares regularly on his website: https://age-of-product.com I have read many really good articles by him and continue to discover more. Definitely well worth checking out!
