I just read Joanna Rothman’s blog, “Help Managers Visualize Their Problems” and boy do I wish I had this available to me when I was a Scrum Master!

Managers in enterprise organizations have worked very hard to get to where they are.  Unfortunately for many, they reached their level with old and out of date models of management.  People as resources is one example; and people being able to multi-task well is another.  The picture below is from Joanna’s blog that clearly illustrates how people working in silos and on multiple tasks at once is in fact slowing work down!

If we were to allow these people to work together one this one feature only, and collaborate, the time would be significantly less.  Probably not the 5-12 hours total work time, but I would guess that it could be less than 2 days.
